Hiya all - I'm an italian beginner guitarist. I'm 50 and I am a scientist by trade.
Musically, I've been playing drums for 30 years: I'm a decent jazz drummer nowadays and actually the most exciting experience I had on stage was when I played with a great jazz guitarist, John Scofield!
I've always wanted to learn to play something on the guitar: I just subscribed and am curious to see what I can learn from this site.
Cheers!

Hello folks, and hello colleague! Which kind of scientist are you? I'm an astronomer working for the Italian Space Agency.

Well, this site is amazing...

I'm a very much down to earth Hospital Laboratory Scientist. Or at least I was until a few months ago when I took early retirement. Haematology is my speciality. Not as glamorous as space but we can't all be space types :D

Learning guitar isn't rocket science (to use a well known saying) but it's often tough to make progress. GT helps immensely though!

Cheers.

Howdy :-) Glad to find that I'm not the only newbie. I'm 41 and almost gave up. I tried playing many times in my youth but gave up quickly as the methods appeared too difficult. Now that I (single dad) have two children who want to learn, they want me to teach them. Well, I don't think I will be able to do that exactly, but so far it is giving them a strong desire to move forward. So far, I'm impressed with what I've learned and looking forward to being on my own. Toodles

Hi Ive just signed up due to latest offer which seems great value. I have been learning acoustic guitar for last year and bought myself an electric one. I also cannot read music. I just love playing as it is total release from work and watching my footy team Kilmarnock (not win most of the time). Im no scientist but a Landscape Architect from Scotland age 40
