Hallo guys.

I´ve recently subscribed to this, by first impression, great site.

I am a danish dude with 25 years on my behind. I´ve played guitar on and off, but never anything serious, the top of my "career" was some guest appearing in a black sabbath band ( i played the rythem :P). Last year i bought a guitar, a Mexican Fender Telecaster, which i adore, and a fender super champ XD for the noize-making. Sadly, because of loads of work with my studies, I never really got into a stable rythem for my exercises. When i was 13, i took one year of Guitar lessons at a professional teacher, and last year i took half a year, but I couldnt keep up because of work and studies. Now, however, im back with a vengance, and i really want to get started playing and progressing with some stable pratice-routines, as my daily scedual allows it now.

After this short introduction, so you guys know where im comming from, i have a question: I cant really wrap my head around where to start, or which things to focus on and which to take more lightly. I´ve been looking at the fundemetal guitar lessons, and so far there is nothing new under the sun as far as what i´ve already learned. But after this its kinda hard to know what to focus on. My personal goal with playing the guitar, is getting a good background for playing, as well as, maybe, in the furture finding a band to play along with. My music-taste is very broad, i like rock, bluse, jazz, funk, world-music, experimental rock and so furth. - So, where should i begin, and what should i mainly focus on as a start ?! - i know the most basicly used achords, but i really lack some of the most basic techniques. What im asking for is just some good focus points for getting a great progression at start.

Hope that kinda tells what my problem/question is, and that any of you guys/gals have some good piece advice.
