Help...Please

I need some advice on to play fast. I know playing fast isn't everything, but I would like to bring up my speed.

Practice your scales to a metronome, and add a notch everyday... Sounds easy? well, it works... NEVER KEEP ON WORKING IF IT HURTS...

Try tapping too, that's the best technique to play fast easily.

Yeah, I have been practicing the scales to a metronome. It does work I have noticed an improvment in my playing this week. I need to work on my sweep picking, I already can tap pretty good.

I still use his exercises. For me it's the ultimate book.

Practice at a slow enough tempo that you can play CLEAN. And, as was said earlier, add a BPM to the metronome every day. Practice things that are difficult, not painful, for you to do. Focus on playing clean...the speed will come in time. It's hard to clean up fast playing but it's easy to speed up clean playing.
