Hello all... I was just wondering if/what materials react with strings. I saw this one guitar player awhile back play a solo, and at the end of the solo he did this amazing guitar trick: He plucked a string and had a ring on his right hand, and while the string was vibrating, he kind of fluttered his hand away from the guitar, thus making the strings vibrate to his hand motions. I thought it was AMAZING!!! And now it is killing me to find out what was in his ring that made the strings vibrate to his hand motions!!! I'm thinking electromagnetic pulses from the ring caused the strings to react... can anyone explain this PLEASE!!

Sounds like a magnetic ring? Like an ebow?
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.
