This tutorial shows major 7th and minor 7th chords:

While not explicitly about that type of playing, this one has parts that show how to rhythmically separate the bass note of chords from the upper voices with thumb and fingers technique. And it has a similiar guitar and tone:

thanks chris.
I just recently wrote down scales for each key (ABCD A# B# etc) and the chords that can be played in each scale so I could memorize the scales and make up of chords (I wonder if that is a good approach). I only wrote down the regular major and minor chords, and then I came across the amy whinehouse song and im like "major 7th and minor 7th, what is that?". I had to figure out what those chords meant via google. It even helps that there are lessons here. yay!!
woahh..all these chords, I have a lot to learn!!
I was excited the other day when I was able to figure out some basic chords to play along to one of my favourite songs.
It must take a lot of skill though to hear a song and know what chords are played from the plethora of chords that exists. I cant wait to get there
