I'm just getting back into the guitar after... well, a long time. I'm playing an acoustic now (a Taylor 214ce that I just bought a month ago), but sometime in the next few months I plan to buy a solid-body electric. I want to pick up an amp now that would, ideally, work well with my acoustic but work well with an electric later, too. Buying multiple amps in the short term is an unpalatable option (my wife just doesn't understand the gear thing...)

I'm a little hesitant to buy an acoustic amp for that reason, but I'm wondering if an amp designed for electrics will work well enough with an acoustic guitar. I've been eyeballing the Peavey Envoy 110 to use as a practice amp.

Anyone have opinions on that model, or care to recommend another?

Thanks,
Mark

If you can find a Roland Micro Cube, I think you'll be very happy with it.

Agree with the suggested Roland Micro Cube. I have one and I use it with my acoustic and with my electric. The sound is great with either guitar. I highly recommend it.

Thanks for the recommendations, everyone. Looks like the Roland Cube is the popular favorite, and I got the same recommendation today from a friend who has one. I'll give it a try!

I finally got around to buying an amp - a Roland Cube 20x. Just got it yesterday so I'm only beginning to play with it, but so far I like it very much. Thanks for the recommendations, everyone!

So true. Another couple of months and I'll have the cash for the American Standard HSS Strat I'm after, and I'll really be a happy man. Well, for a while, anyway... ;-)
