I haven't been playing for a long time yet so I know I'm going to be slow. But will speed come in time?

Of course. Speed building exercises like this help:

But everything you do will help your speed. Your muscles get stronger, you get that muscle memory that lets you play without thinking, and know the neck like your own hand.

Playing correctly, even if it means slowly, is a great way to get faster. 60bpm today is 80 next week.

Also, playing each day is best. 30 minutes a day is better than 3 hours once a week. Good luck.

Spped will come with time. However, I'd suggest speding your time being and accurate and clean player and not focus on speed at the outset. When you focus on accuracy, speed will just come along for the ride and you will be the better, cleaner player for it.

Hey Sliverburst,

What they said.

Rykoshet and JeffS65 both have really good points worth taking very seriously. Speed (with quality) comes later, after getting a handle on the quality. Prioritize quality, and the speed will naturally fall into place in its own good time.

Keep us posted, let us know how its going.
