Beginnner To Playing on GuitarTricks.com

Is there anyone on here has gone from never playing to being able to play freely by solely using GuitarTricks.com? I"m sure there are I'd like to hear your stories - How easy it was, how long it took, how long til you were able to play your first song etc.

That's actually a good question. I'd be interested in hearing this as well. It would be a good way to promote the online lessons too for testimonial stuff.

Yes I suppose i am a prime candidate. I picked up a guitar aged 47 for the first time almost exactly two years ago. I tried several sites and online tutorials and found them lacking. I spent a while on here looking at the free lessons before joining.

Two years ago my goals were to be able to 'daydream' on a guitar, and be able to have the skills to play a recognisable song from tabs, with the help of the instructors on here (notably Lisa and Hanspeter) i now can do both of these.

My goals for the next two years are building my rythym skills, so I know Douglas has some excellent lessons here. Maybe i should post again in two years!
