It's been SOOO long ago, but now that this discussion started, wow, I DO remember having trouble with that F chord. I also remember the notorious B-7th. Learning that particular one opened up countless songs to me. That F-chord as you know, when you do the grunt work involved will open the rest of the neck to you in many ways. I definitely remember that F with "The Wind Cries Mary" by Hendrix. You slide that F to the Gb then to the G positions. You can't play THAT song without a good 'ol F-chord!
