Hey folks,

I own a very simple amp called the Fender pro jr. Here is a link

http://www.guitarstop.com/Fender/projr.htm

I have had it a very long time and it has treated me great. This amp has seen some rough treatment and continues to serve. It is time to replace the tubes. What is in it is stock. Two 12ax7's and two el84's.

Do you guys have any suggestions? Stay with stock? I play a Tele with Texas special pickups. I like a clean country twang. the stock tubes in it seem to have always been a little too much on the bright side. Any suggestions? I wouldn't mind changing the speaker as well. Ya'all got any ideas? Thanks

That's a pretty tough tube combo to beat and particularly if your working in some fairly traditional tones.

Best place for advice and tubes is www.eurotubes.com - ask Bob, he will set you up, be sure to let him know the type of tone you are going for. He matched up my Mesa Boogie Triaxis and Simul-Class 2:90 with a really cool set that imporved the tone from the originals hugely.
