Hi All, Just wanted to introduce myself. I've been playing for 45 years and consider myself fairly well versed in music theory, though I can't read music very fast. I play mostly country and folk, but like blues and old rock too. Sad to say that in all those years I never learned to do much more than fingerpick and strum. I want to learn to play lead and hope I can pick up a few tricks here. John

Hi John,

Welcome to Guitar Tricks! You'll find a lot of friendly help and support here..wow, 45 years! way to go.
If you go to the 'lessons' tab and type 'lead' in the search box you'll get a slew of lead lessons to pick from. Hanspeter Kruesi has a good tutorial on playing lead for blues and rock titled: Sound & Expression on Lead Guitar
Have fun!
