I haven't played either one but I would probably take the ESP.

It's going to depend on the intrument and you. The ESP has a somewhat narrow neck by the headstock, but ESP's can jam some metal. I must say though.. years ago I had an ESP MH100 and it had a bad neck. So depends on the particular guitar. I personally went with an Ibanez RG. Has a Wizard 2 neck, is a metal machine, is cheap (got mine on ebay for $143.00 - steal of a deal -), though doesn't have a tremelo, could put one in if you must have. As always for metal I put in EMG actives, and you should hear how heavy it sounds.

I think the reality is, no one hear can answer for you and what works for you, You really have to play a guitar to know. I personally find the ESP a better choice overall but I'm not going to be plying it. It's like buying a car having never sat in it. You'd hate to get it and realize that it is uncomfortable.
So, I imagine take that for what it's worth. Buy the one that fits you. Playability to you is A1. After that, things can be worked around. I would also look at reviews at Harmony Central or the product reviews at Musicians Friend to see what people say.
