I was wondering if anyone knew of any tutorials here that included some melodies that I can practice against the jam tracks. I'd like to get a better sense of which notes to emphasise with each chord. In theory I know to use the notes of the chord on the 1st and 3rd beat of a measure, but I'd like a little guidance and practice, because I'm not quite getting the point in my solos.

Thanks

This suggests you've seen my intro to improv tutorials. If not they are here:

http://www.guitartricks.com/tutorial.php?input=491

These lessons are aimed at using pentatonic licks over blues backing tracks. But they contain the essential info necessary to understand and use to better your solo playing:

All of these have MP3 or JamStation backing tracks to play along with the ideas. Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes for you!
