How many of you out there make a living making music??? Making music would include teaching, playing, or just about anything else that you think is related.

I work twenty hours every week as a music teacher in an elementary school, I teach rock guitar 5 hours every thursday night, I do sessions (just finished a very long series, a musical of 30 songs, more than 2 hours of music)and I have royalties for kids' songs I have written for the franch cub scouts. I used to play in a band, but it was not financially rewarding enough, compared to the time it comsumed...

I teach music at various different schools, and I really enjoy communicating with others. It brings me great joy to know that I've made a difference in these kids lives, and I take my responsibility as a teacher very seriously. I just finished directing a performance in church, and I've very proud of what the kids have accomplished in such little time. When it comes to teaching, or being involved with music, it's not about the money (or at least it shouldn't be.) It's all about finding a way to get through to your studets, in more ways than one. As a teacher, I'm a friend, but I also remember what it was like to be there age, and I know how it feels to want to belong, or to simply want to contribute in the worst way.

Hopefully I'll be able to get another band started soon, because when it comes to music, I'm always trying to expand my knowledge. And from spending time with others, you'd be amazed by how much you could learn. There are so many endless possibilities.

-Joseph

Do you want me to write the score if Hollywood buys the rights? I have some time ahead of me...
