Take heart friends you too can learn to play guitar, I did and I'll be 71 the 17th of march. I struggled and decided that nothing that I had control of was going to stop me from finally learning to play the guitar. You don't have to do it this way, but beings time is not on my side anymore I put in 8-10 hrs everyday through hrs. of frustration and wanting bust my guitar over the b ed post. Still I hung in there and one moment the lights started coming on and the rest is history. I don't mean I'm the greatest but I can hear a song and play it. My only wish is that I would have put that kind of energy into it when I was younger, but I guess it's never to late.

Cool. Just goes to prove you can do anything if you put your mind to it.
Heck, my dad's 87 and still in great health and my grandfather lived to 97, so I'm hoping I can still squeeze another 40 years of playing before I die.
(or hopefully transfer my mind into the new cerebral computer that will be invented by then so I'll never die and just live forever in cyberspace :)

Hi Herb-

Thanks for your great story! It's so true, it is never too late to play.

I worked with a gentleman in my private lesson studio who picked up the guitar for the very first time at the age of 72. He said it was something he had always wanted to do - and so he was finally determined to do it! That was a couple of years ago - I'm sure he's still at it and having a good time making music.

Bravo!
