Hi. Just wondering if anyone can give me some help with nut width and string spacing? I have a Squier Affinity Strat which measures exactly 40mm across the nut and the string spacing ends up at 6mm. I wouldn't say I have fat fingers exactly but I do seem to find it a bit narrow. I notice that standard strats tend to have a nut width specified at just over 42mm and with this in mind, would be grateful for some feedback on the following:-
1) Do the standard Strat necks in fact measure 42mm?
2) What is the string spacing at the nut?
3) Anyone had any experience in fitting a strat neck to a Squier as I am thinking that this might be hindering my progress?
Of course if someone comes back and says that there is very little actual difference in either neck from a playing point of view then this will help me as well.
