Sounds like you are after the order of the musical alphabet letters:

A - B - C - D - E - F - G - A - (repeating ...)

Those are the natural notes. Then when you put in the accidentals (sharps and flats) you get:

A - A# - B - C - C# - D - D# - E - F - F# - G - G# - A - (repeating ...)

All of this is covered in depth in the Guitar Fundamentals 1 Course:

http://www.guitartricks.com/course.php?input=1

Chapter 4 contains "How Notes Are Named (Introducing A-G Terminology)":

http://www.guitartricks.com/lesson.php?input=11078&c_id=1&ch_id=5

And from there follows in depth tutorials on where these lettered notes are located on all the strings. But I suggest going through the whole course to get everything in it's proper order and context. Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any other questions and how it goes for you! :)
