Hey, I'm new also. I live over in London, England and I do not have any musical background what-so-ever! But on new years I vowed to learn and thusly chose the guitar, as it is the coolest instrument of all (of course). ;)

I'm on "Fundamentals 1" chapter 4 and have had my guitar for about 5 days now. I've spent most of my time just getting used to the guitar (strumming and fretting) and have been doing C, G, E major and A minor chords over and over (and over) again until I can get them down smoothly with muting also.

I'm also learning how to read music (I've already got tabs down), as my musical side is lacking quite completely. I've also been thinking about taking some lessons, but I'll hold off for now as guitartricks.com has been more than enough so far.
