I have been playing around with guitar for years but I have never took it serious. Now I have finished my degree I would like to become a better player. Instead of just learning some tabs and fooling around like I have for years, I would really like to advance my guitar playing.

I feel stuck and can't move to the next level. I have an acoustic and electric guitar but I am not sure where to do from here.

Do you have any suggestions,

Stuck

Dear Stuck,

My suggestion would be that you try the Fundamentals courses for starters. Even though your playing ability may be well beyond that at this point, the Fundamentals courses may fill in some important gaps in your familiarity with music theory, proper positioning, etc.

I have taught hundreds of "self-taught" guitar players over the years, and I tend to find that while they may have learned to sound pretty good with certain techniques, there are some fundamentals and basics that they missed in their self-study. Getting on top of this stuff will really help you in seriously moving forward and learning some new stuff about the guitar that will be really fun and exciting to you.

You've already got the benefit of your past experience and skills - now you can grow that by learning the fundamental concepts that underlie what you are currently able to do. And that makes it possible to surge forward.

Like opening a door....

Keep us posted -
Best wishes, Lisa
