I find that I always turn my tone pot all the way up so that it produces more highs. having said that. if someone does not adjust their tone with the knob, does it even make since to use them?

Also, I know why we have a volume pot. That's obvious, but I'm a little confused as to the difference between a tone and volume pot. I've read how tone pots have different values 1meg, 500k, 250k. Seems that I've also read that volume pots can have different values as well.

Why would a volume pot have different values?

Or do I have this all messed up and I'm just confused as hell?
