Well, after tooling around I have cleaned up the original, made it a lot less musically cluttered and I will go in and re-cut the guitar but in the meanitme I'm looking for thoughts on if the mix and if the instrumentation works better..

Overall, I'd say pretty nifty. It does bring a fat chunk of Steely Dan to mind a la Deacon Blues. At least in terms of vibe.

It's a pretty clean mix. I did hear some swelling horns in the background that I think need to be brought forward just a tish. Not much but just a tiny bit. It adds texture but it loses the the swelling vibe if it's that buried.

In terms of guitar playing. Tasty stuff. I did feel that the lead stuff was a little choppy. Not the playing but the arrangement. The parts were short/punchy licks and not feeling always like a part of an overall arrangement. Maybe find some more sustained spots to draw the overall leads together. Maybe stick in a little David Gilmour in with the Walter Becker...If ya know what I mean.
