Well, never actually played on a Marshall amp before,but i do own a Marshall JH1 Jackhammer Distortion pedal, and its my favorite toy. I can get a large range of different distortion and overdriven tones from it, and its extremely sturdy, in a full metal case. thats just my 2 cents
