Detuning

i was wondering and i'm sure others are as well how do you detune your guitar
I tried searching it up but it doesnt really tell you how if someone can tell me how to down tune half a step and a whole step that would be great and i couldnt really ask my guitar teacher cause i'm on holidays

i know drop d and that but i dont know a or b either so that would be handy as well

Detuning is just what it says, standard tuning top to bottom is E-B-G-D-A-E, detuning is dropping the tuning down to anything lower such as D-A-F-C-G-D, that would be detuning all strings down one whole step,
