I've had my guitar for about 2 weeks now. However, I do have SOME experiance. I was in marching/concernt band jr. and high school (22 years ago). Plus I plunked around on a bass guitar for a few years after high school, but I've not played that in at least 15 years or so. Never played the 6 string until now.
I have one goal.... Bring back 80's rock. :D

Hi B3n5000
I don't know a whole lot about guitars, but, I do know that there is no fast path to being a great guitarist. You just have to put in the time and patience. If you want to learn and stay interested, you need to set your expectations correctly. Don't think to yourself that you're going to be Eddy Van Halen in 6 months time. I just wont happen.

Rick is right. Guitar is a journey. I've been playing well over a decade and I'm pretty decent but I'm no rock god. Takes patience and a real will to learn. If you have those then you can get there. It'll just take time.
