Crate Amps

What does everybody think of Crate Amps? What do you think would be better out of these two?

Both are a 100 watts and 2x12. Also they are under $500. Those are the features I need. If you know of better ones please tell me.

I've played the GX140 before and thought it was a great amp for metal/rock. If that's the kind of music you play then deffinately buy the GX140. The more expensive model just has an effects loop. It's cool to mess with but usually you'll find yourself sticking with certain effects. So you might be better off buying the GX140 and getting some new/used effects pedals. As far as distortion you can just use the amps, it's got one of the best metal distortions I've heard.

Thanks you. I was also leaning towards that model and I play rock\metal so that is good to hear you say that. I am also going to get some pedals to go along with it so I don't need the extra effects.
