Hi all,

So I bought my electric guitar (standard beginner guitar and amp) a while back but I'm only just getting into it now...

Okay so I know next to nothing aside from the appropriate way to hold my guitar. Now I know that to properly learn to play I need to follow all of the videos and such and start from scratch...

However... For me to be able to get into this properly I need to be able to play something, no matter how simple it is... Just something to give me some form of hope lol....

I've heard from a few of my mates (who all play guitar) that something that fits what I've just said would be Time of your life by Green Day... Apparently you only need to know 3 or 4 chords? (hope I'm using the correct terms and such)

Does anyone have like a little guide / walkthrough of how to learn to play it? I don't know how else to explain it really so I hope I haven't done to bad of a job lol...

Thanks for any feedback!

your not going to find specific song tutorials here due to licensing/copyright issues, but you can get the tab (short for tablature - which is a simple way of writing guitar pieces that will have to learn to read) off the internet, GOOGLE!. Then you can try and follow some of the videos on youtube (the song is actually called "good riddance").

While it is a "simple" song, there are still chords and picking patterns that you are going to find frustrating for a couple of weeks...

I would def. recommend that you work your way through the 2 beginners guides on this site along side working through your first song.
