Note detector??
Hi, I'm sort of new here, only posted once. I am a guitar player/songwriter, and am wondering if anyone knows of a site, or instrument, that you can sing into, and it tell you the chords you are singing? I have some problems trying to identify the "off" chords when singing. The majors are no problem, and even the minors. It's the 5ths, 6ths, sus chords, 69 chords etc. that give me most problems. Thanks for any help. After seeing some of the technology in music production, I feel sure there must be something out there I can use. Thanks again.

the next best thing to that (that i know is available and free) are visual chord dictionaries that tell you exactly what chord you're playing when you input the fret numbers. other than that, how about just tackling some theory and learn your chord/key relationships? even bebop jazz has reason to the rhyme, if you know what i mean.
just google "guitar chord dictionary" and you'll find one that you can use easily enough; the theory can be just as simple to find on the net. good luck!
