Light is 100% correct, it depends on the guitar. A lot of classical/spanish guitars have very thick necks and jumbo sized fretboards - the same applies for accoustic guitars. You can get an electric guitar with a very slim neck profile quite easily at just about any budget, just make sure it does not have jumbo frets. I believe there is an Epiphone specificaly designed for girls with small hands - it even comes in pink :p but you can also get it in a 'metal' black too! As far as I know it has a 23.5" scale, there is also a guitar by Fender with an even shorter scale but may be a lot more expensive because of the brand (it's not a Squire). Plenty of options on the electric front, not so sure about classical and Spanish gutiars though - I think the necks are the size they are because of the types of woods used and lack of truss rods etc...
