"A Modern Method for Guitar," that is.

I'm sure several veterans have pounded through this, and I expect some of my fellow noobies have toyed with it as well. I'm wondering what everyone's thoughts are on it.

So far, I've found it slower going that I expected, but very useful in terms of both sight-reading (seems to be the main focus of the book) and in terms of some really basic skills (heh...learning how to hit only 3 strings while not looking at the fretboard, as well as just looking at the music rather than the fretboard).

Strangely enough, I've made more progress working through the Discovery portion of Rush's 2112 (including the quick chord change riff, which isn't half as difficult as I envisioned it) than I have in Leavitt's book. The former at least "sounds" harder to play...I'm hoping that the skills I learn from pounding my head and fingers against Leavitt's book pay off.
