I've been reading the forum boards since Oct 07 when I first picked up a Guitar and this site has REALLY helped me learn A Lot quickly. I'm currently deployed to Iraq and use the Guitar to fill up the 2 hours a day that I am not actively engaged. As I'm deployed I'm trying to decide on my "Dream Guitar" and saving up for it. I have already experienced GAS (Guitar Acquisition Syndrom) and currently have: an Acoustic and an Ephiphone Les Paul Special that I'm leaving here, an Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus Top, Ephiphone LTD SG3 Custom, Adamas/Ovation CC44, Fender Mexi Strat, Fender American Tele and my wife got me a Taylor T5Custom for my R&R leave where I could actually use the webpage for lessons instead of just the forum. Basically I've decided on the Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus and am asking for advice on which set of pickups to get on it. It's a good chunk of change so I'll have plenty of time to decide, but value the advice I'll get from this community. My style of play is basically forming into a Fingerpicking Rhythm style rather than the "chunking" Rhythm. I tend to prefer a Rhythm/Background melody repeated throughout as the Rhythm, or SRV style mixed with Jonny Lang and AC/DC. I've already decided that the EMG 81/85 is not for me (yet) as they sound better for Metal. Anyways, the two types of pickups I'm trying to decide between are the Burstbucker Pro or the 57 Classic Humbuckers. Any suggestions?
