I use a thinner pick when strumming a lot and use a thicker one for practicing scales and such. I personally like the fender thin (Plus the one I have looks really cool lol) for strumming and the Jim dunlop m for picking. I guess Ill have to settle on one eventually. I guess my point is maybe try a thin pick until you get the hang of it if you aren't already
