Hi...I am in Cincinnati Ohio. Are there any others who are from my area? I am looking for women musicians to work with. I will gladly play with men as well, it's just that I am trying to put a project together to do some recording with an all girl band. So, If anyone is out there and interested, please contact me via email directhex@cinci.rr.com
Thanks!

Thanks for your input/concern. I have been doing this for years in other locations. I just happened to move here recently and looking for some new musicians to continue with. I have no "cause" or whatever. LOL. Don't be afraid....

Hi Pony....I intend to stay. Thanks for your advice in your earlier response and please accept mine in return and in the spirit that it is intended which is not meant to be a negative one. Perhaps greeting women to this forum with some encouraging words, instead of assuming you have what they are about all figured out and then being critical of that, would keep them around longer. Just a thought.
Thanks for listening.
Respectfully,
d

Some chick bands could get fairly heavy and still sound good.

Celine Vigil could/can purr, scream, and roar almost in the same lyric- really made a lot of Seven Year Bitch's stuff hit home.

Also, for a "boy's club" this one is pretty tame (most of the time), I hope you stick around.

They used to hang out on top of my roof which used to bother me a bit, but now they just hang out in my sock drawer. At first they were a bit of a problem, but since my drawers have never been so clean before I've decided to let them stick aroumnd. And they no longer leave those nasty droppings around. You can borrow them on the weekends.

You're right...so far it doesn't seem bad at all. I have been quite amused actually. Seems like there are a lot of young "boys" (quoting a couple of you with that word) here. Am I right? Which is ok....I never plan on growing up myself no matter how "old" I get. Too much cool stuff to play with in the world.

oh jeese.. dont bring age into this!! We range from about 15 to 50+ (I'm not mentioning names)... Yeah, but we're all kids at heart...(I'm 18 by the way)
I'm Educatedfilm (a screen name which i now regret but what the heck, poeple just call me Ed)... I didn't notice the big welcome cheer that comes when a new guy...um.. person joins...So here it comes, me being the first:

Well welcome to the board, we hope you hang around (and not post 6 times and then dissapear, which we get a lot around here...)... There are some really really knowlagble poeple here, who can help you with even the most bizzare and specailist stuff, but most of us can help out in stuff here and there....
Hope you enjoy you'r stay here!
:)

ps if you though any of this was amusing, oh just wait till it's gets political!!! Some really cool arguments...

Is it just me or does anybody else think it's strange that almost all bands consist of male band members.
I mean females are supposedly the more emotional of the two sexes and you'd think they'd be the first ones to express themselves in song, yet it's always guys who write the sappy love songs and put bands together to express their emotions in music.
A friend of mine thinks it's because girls don't take the time to learn instruments because they spend all their free time dating, talking on the phone and shopping... which kinda rings true in a way. Most guys are more into moping around in their bedrooms alone with nothing to do except learn guitar.
He swears that if a girl is really georgious with a killer body and long blond hair, there's no way she's going to learn guitar cause she's too popular with the guys and rarely spends time alone long enough to put the effort into learning.
