Hello,
I am looking for help with the little trill at the start of Tarrega's Capricho Arabe. It's the part where the melody starts proper, after you slide from the F to the A on the first string. seems to be an A,A sharp, hammer to C,pull off to A sharp again. For the life of me I cant grab it.I have listened to how it should be done and I have the rythym wrong.I'm self taught and working from a tablature from the net.Any suggestions/help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

wow, what a great piece of music! i too remember being a bit baffled by that intro lick. i'm going to have to see the real notation to be sure how to finger it, but i believe it was alot of moving positions around minor 3rds for that part, am i right? after the drone D note in the bass, it has that diminished-sounding lick. get back to me and we can talk about it more.

Thanks for reply.
I'm afraid my theory knowldege is practically non existent so you're impressing the hell out of me with talk of diminished thirds! Basically i get a piece on tab, listen to how it should be played and then proceed to murder it repeatedly.
However,if you can help... the tab I'm working off is http://www.classtab.org/ftacap_a.txt
and its the part in the 15th and 16th bars that are freaking me out.Any other source of tab on this may help. Not convinced it's right although I'm probably doing the transcriber a serious injustice.
Thanks again!

great, i see what you're talking about now. if you are having trouble with the ryhthmic aspect of it,try simplifying it at first and just think in eighth notes. (1-and-2-and-3-and-4-and). the litle embellishments in that are easy once you get that. if you're having a trouble with fingering it fast enough, i'll check these measures out at home today and see what i encounter. those vertical lines at the top of the tab notation (next to the 1st string) are the beats, so that gives you an idea with where the upbeat and downbeat will be. i think once you get that, the little 16th note ideas won't be too much of a problem.

i'll reply back to this once i check it out for myself.
