Hi all-
I'm looking for a box/pod where I can record a short rhythm track where I can loop it so I can jam with myself. Had a whole list bookmarked, now can't figure out what's what. Any recommendations? I'd prefer that I be able to feed the signal out to my amp. Thanks in advance.

Boss has one that I've heard is pretty nice. The RC-2, it's a bit on the steep end though, 179 bucks.

Thanks, MRAFTER. Saw the demo at the Boss site, and it looks just like what I need. Yah, kinda pricey, will have to put it on my wish list for now.

checking ebay now, and going to call my local mom and pop shop to see if they have one (used) for sale. I need more loops!

I've got a Digitech JamMan... very very easy to use... and if I wanted I could record 6 hours of loops to play along to. It also has a basic drum machine built in so you can be your own band.... :)

Thanks, ren, but I think that's more than I want to spend. My needs are pretty simple- just looping a rhythm track. The rc-2 has a drum machine built in also. Hey, if you live in da Bronx, I can hop on a subway; I'll give ya...how about $50? :D

Thanks for the recommendations guys (lost my bid on Ebay).

hmmm...decisions, decisions....

ren: how "basic" is the drum machine, and how many different types of rhythms does the JamMan have? The description is kinda vague when I looked it up- "Metronome with multiple rhythm sounds and time signatures". I didn't find the demo of it at the digitech site as impressive as the Boss rc-2.

Kevin: Yeah, the Line 6 box definitely looks groovy. Very impressive specs, but I haven't been able to find a vid demo of it yet, not on youtube or even the Line 6 site. You have any personal experience with this box? Line 6 seems to make quality stuff from what I've seen.

I think I'm going to spend a bit more than originally intended. The ability to expand memory is a real plus. I'm in one of my "I really want that" moods, so I may have something by this weekend. If I do, I'll let you guys know. Thanks again for input. If not for alimony, I could buy my own studio! ;)
