my guitar teacher has set me up a lesson. i would like some advice on how to do it, but in no way do i want you to do it for me. the problems i am having i think are related to just my confidance in what i am supposed to play.

so my lesson is to write the 12 bar blues in the key of A (i know the progression is A D E). he wants me to root it at around the 5th fret and write at least two turn arounds from the chords i choose. i cant use barre or 5 chords.

now where im running into trouble is what chords do i write it in (i know the A D E with the 7th are a good place to start.) meaning do i write in maj. min. dim. sus. aug. add 9 add 13

like i said before im looking for some advice.

and if any one who reads this is or was a guitar teacher, could you give me some insight on what hes looking for in this lesson from me.
They say the END is near, but I'm Tired of waiting.

I think he just wants you to start using chords other than ones you are already familiar. Try to come up with just simple major or minor chord inversions on different strings. Or just dominant 7th chords.
