According to this article, using lemon oil on your fretboards(maple excluded)isn't a good idea. I've used it on my fretboards in the past with no problems. What's your take on this?

I only use it maybe twice a year and when I do it literally soaks into the fretboard like a sponge but I've never noticed any problems. Certainly nothing like rotting as the article suggests...and I bend the crap out of the neck in place of using a whammy bar so I'd know if the wood had degraded in any way.
