I don't know if this is the right forum for this question.

What do you guys think of the squier bronco bass? I heard that it is smaller (and therefor more suitable for people who are used to guitar).

Also, do you guys know of any good bass resources on the net where I could ask questions and get info?

thanx

I'm probably as good a resource as you'll find. Feel free to ask me most anything bass related. I myself like long scale basses a lot better. Go to a shop, play a few four strings, and see what feels right. I will offer these pointers:

1). "Picks are for kids." -Charlie Hunter
2). Though more massive and at a higher tension, bass strings are a lot floppier. Long scale basses minimize this.
3). For heaven's sakes, don't play like (or attempt to aproxomate the tone of) Fieldy from Korn.

You might want to try an ibanez bass, those play with a similar feel as a guitar.

See #3 from the above...
:p

Actually, a few of the high end Ibanez basses are pretty decent. The Ergodynes aren't bad.
