i used to know some one who had the cheapest model warlock they make, and that thing was a peice of crap. not only was it odd shaped and undomfortable to play but the pickup sounded like crap and the thing wouldnt stay in tune at all. i have played on the higher price one and it does play a lot better but its a lot more money.

right now since your just learning look isnt important. you want a guitar that playes well is comfortable and sounds ok. save the looks for your first club gig.

there are a few companys that make good cheap electrics that make great guitars to start out with. ibanez makes a few squire makes some ok ones. i think peavey makes some. and epiphone makes a good lp for cheap. be sure to remember these guitars arent super quality but they will get you going.

as for amps id recommend the same amp i have. its a vox ac-30 its a 30 valvetronix amp but i paid about $250 american for it. it has amp model for classic vox amp sounds good and will sound clear as a bell even over a noisy drummer. so you wont need to run out a replace it in a year.(unless you want to)
They say the END is near, but I'm Tired of waiting.
