are you able to plug in headphones to these without an amp and listen as if you had your headphones plugged into an amp?

something like this: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/DigiTech-RP90-Guitar-MultiEffect-Pedal?sku=153571

thanks

It's got a 1/8" headphone output so, yeah. You might need a 1/8" to 1/4" converter for your headphone plug.

Only thing I find is that regardless of the processor, the overdrive always seems to sound a little cheezy.
Like, I've got a Boss GT-8 that I use straight line in, but to tone down the overdrive I use a Redbox Cabinetulator through the send/receive jacks.
It's sorta like a cabinet simulator that takes that fuzzy edge off the overdrive built into the effects unit.

I did a video going through the some of the patches on the GT-8 here:

Even when I use that though, for recording I still sometimes run it through a clean channel using Amplitube.

I use various line 6 pods all the time and love em either for feeding an amp or going direct. they already have built in cab simulators which rock !

Headphone outs are standard !
My instructors page and www.studiotrax.net for all things recording.
