SonarCakeWalk 6.0

Anyone familiar with this recording software? I've downloaded it unto my computer and got as far as opening a new file and selecting a basic 4 instrument rock format consisting guitars/bass/keys/drums. From there the timeline window for each instrument appears and all these weird buttons an panels to play around with but it got too confusing I dont really know where to begin actually. Ive surfed cakewalks site for a play-by-step users manual but couldnt find any information thats helpful. Any help from anyone about this wuold be greatly appreciated or should I just get a different recording software thats more user friendly.
