I've had my Fender Deville for almost a year now, and my tubes are noticably feeling some pain this time a year. It is time to switch em' out which I am actually excited about to see the tone differences. Anyways... I'm just curious to see if anyone has any preferences on tubes, or advice on choosing the right ones (I like a huge fat tone myself... very smooth) And also... is this something I can do myself, or would it be wise to take it to a shop the first time? Thanks.

Best advice you can get, ask Bob at eurotubes.com
He set me up with a custom set for my Triaxis/2:90 rig. Tell him the tones you like and the gear you use and he will make the suggestions.

I second that advice....I hope you have done this as I have after reading this as well. Great advice and Bob is a great guy to deal with. No bull. I did this my self for my Fender Super Reverb, Twin, Bassman 10, and Bassman 135. I also got a hold of Ted Weber and put in his speakers he recomened....all I can say is ..WOW...

So do I email this guy or what. I went to the site and like the looks, just was a little to preoccupied and lazy to scope things out for contacts.

Just email him through what gear you use and the tone you are looking for and he will email you back some suggestions - if you order make sure he gives good instructions on how to install which tube where (he may use a mix of tubes across preamp and poweramp).
