Does cranking the volume on a solid-state amp do anything for the sound, or is it just pointless? Will it eliminate any fuzz?

Cranking it will bring it to its optimal tone, but pretty much after halfway the tone starts to sound like ****, at least thats what I was told.

cranking it is very unlikely to eliminate the fuzz, it will probab;y just make it louder, as for tone, it will most likely stay the same through most of the volume range, except very quiet and very loud
