so i have been searching for a new amp for about a month now and i cant semm to find the right one. ive been to severel shops and looked all over the net but no such luck.

i was looking on the carvin online shop http://carvin.com/ and i found an amp that looks ok the reviews (3 of them) here. said this amp rocks for a solid state. i was wondering if any of you good players had any experence with carvin amp and if they really do sound any good. i am kind of obsessed with marshall but im willing to try just about any thing right now.

heres the amp im looking at:

I haven't but.. what is the amp for? what styles of music are you going to play on it? that is.. what are you going to use it for? May be people can suggest other items as well that are similar..

i am looking for a good amp, some where in the 30 watt range (for soild state) for practice in my room . i play metal blues classic rock rock alt and some very rare country.
im want a versitale amp with multiple channels that are foot swithable, i dont care about onboard effects i prefer pedals anyway. i do not like modeling or multifx prossessors. i really like the marshall tone but all the amps ive looked at so far to get 3 channels means going up to 75 watts or higher. i would love to go tube only but my price needs to stay around or below $550 american.

thats all i can think of now but ill add more later.

I'd go for a Peavy. I had the head version of that amp and it had horrible distortion for metal, I guess it was more for classic rock. It didn't have a very tight sound.

put a pedal to this...ZZ top uses these...I'm sure with a good metal pedal it will do ya fine...18 tube watts is playing for bedroom practice...I know you want multi channels but I would put tube tone before that :D I have played through these and they have a great sound to them.
Crate V18
