Hey guys,

Been getting a lot more serious about recording lately, and I bought a mixer, stupidly thinking that it would be able to record multi-track. So i'm trying to sell it. The point is, I've been lookin into the alesis multimix firewire 12. Looks good to me for live and for multi-track recording. You guys heard anything about it?

Your mixer should be able to do multi-tracking, unless you want multiple tracks recorded all at the same time. What kind of mixer is it? What kind of software are you using? What kind of sound card do you have?

Maybe we can get you going with what you already have.

I think I mis-wrote. I want to be able to record multiple tracks at the same time, and with my Behringer 1222fx...i can't really do that. If you have any good suggestions...under 300 bucks, I know it's not too much but you know. I wish I had enough for a mackie onyx but uh...

with your setup and a Maudio 1010LT sndcard you could do 3 tracks at once. possible more of the monitor channel is stereo and the aux sends are used. It could get you to 6 channels at once. The 1010 LT can do 8 channels at once (16 if you buy 2 cards and install them on the same computer) I got my 1010 LT from ebay and paid ~$160 US

I think the Alesis would be your best option for your price range. It has decent pres and you can record all the inputs with the firewire version.

Since you are using it for multiple applications this is the most durable for that.

The Onyx would be nice but this is a good compromise.
