The Minidisk does destructiv compression of the music, so that it fits on the MD. So there is no chance to get something from the MD in the same quality as you have put on it. So it isn't a good idea to take a MD for transfer reasons or backups. The goal of the MD is to record music on it and listen from it, with the advantage having a small medium.
