billy joel from green day has it. kirk hammet has it. the good old guys from blink182 had it. matt heafy from tivium realy got it. everyone seems to have it except me.

Punk and \m/etal rythem strength in my right hand and wrist.

im talking about that 2 or 3 string right hand palm mutted percussive sound with all down stroked barre chords.

how do they hold the plectrum ? i know its with two finger with the other three spread out, where the rythem comes from the wrist.

But i cant understand how they manage to get an aqggressive sound when played in this fashion.

Therefor i hold my plectrum in the sweep picking fashion and rely on the wrist to strike the plectrum more aggressivley. doing this results in arm ache and failure to consistantly play in time.

neither of these sound great. im quite savvy when it comes to techniques. ive played for 8 years and have got alright. but i just dont get how they do it.

are there any lessons on here that anyone can suggest ? ? ? ? ? ?

ive checked the metal riffs but theres none in there with this 2 or 3 string barre chord approach, just single string muting.
HELP HELP !!!!!
