Jcadla - Have a look for the "Pentatonic Minor" lessons/tutorials to start with. They are a great starting point for any one wanting to start playing lead guitar. Though it is far from the last tool you will learn for soloing, I would predict it (the Pentatonic Minor scale) becoming the backbone for 99% of the stuff you do.. Obviously learning the chromatic scale, major scale and all the other scales and modes is just as important in the long haul.. just that the pentatonic minor is the one the start with in my opinion.
