mute ringing notes
I recently started playing electric guitar. I'd like to know what is the easiest way to stop a note from ringing after my finger lifts off of a string.

Use the palm of your picking hand, or your fretting hand fingers/whole hand.

Strike a c chord and stop the strings with your palm switching up chords in between, that is essentially what is going on across the neck in songs,
Try to learn the song Holy Diver by Dio, that taught me the essence of palm muting! Also, learn to gallup. This site is great! Thanks for all the help!
