I take it you mean without barring.
For the Bm, if you're going for a light airy tone, you can play it by just hitting the B note (2nd fret on the A string) and a high D (3rd fret, B string)
Not sure about a C#m open chord. Slide an Am up 2 frets, then hit the C# (4th fret A string) That's about as easy as it gets.

This site is great. I'm surprised that GuitarTricks doesn't have one of these already. Basically, you just select a chord and the site displays it on a picture of a fretboard at the top. You can then click the "Variations" button at the bottom of the chord selection area, and it will cycle through all possible ways to play the chord.

The barre way is the easy way...
Learn how to do that, and you'll be able to do all sorts of things...
If you're playing heavy music you'll need to mute as well probably, and playing the chords in 'open' shapes will make that much harder...

I agree.. open chords sound much better.. more guitar-like, if anything played on a guitar could somehow not be guitar-like.. haha.. but yeh.. when you are playing with distortion, open chords generally suck I have found.. And.. the B chord.. such a pain to play without barring..

The best and frequently easiest way to play any given chord is to isolate just the notes you need and find a place to play them on the fretboard.
For things like B minor and C-sharp minor it is as simple as finding the 3 notes that comprise each of those chords.
B minor - 1st (B), minor 3rd (D), 5th (F-sharp)
C-sharp minor - 1st (C-sharp), minor 3rd (E), 5th (G-sharp)
