Is there any way you guys could get up a small frame on the main forum page to show who's in the Chat? (Or if there is one? If there is, i doubt my browser would support it (so sue me for not using IE)

There is, but its only visible when there is someone in the chat. It appears at the top of the forum.

So the reason I don't see one is because nobody is ever in it?

Right, but not totally true. People pop in and out. I was in there for about an hour today waiting for someone to stop by.

What would make it work a little better is if there were scheduled Q&A and other topical chats, so that people can talk about a specific topic. May be we can do polls to determine what topic and/or Q&A chat will be for each month.. obviously popularity of topic is a big thing. May be an instructor could put aside an hour for the chat session and people could ask them questions directly or something like that..

Thats actually a brilliant idea. Sort of like live tech-support. I'd volunteer for it anyday.

Well just so as long as it's understood I didn't mean it should be a daily thing.. it's like on some game developer sites they have interviews with the people who are making the game.. or on a fan-site for a movie they might have chat interviews with the cast and crew.. Events like those generally fill the chat room and keep it filled before and after an event as well.
